Two Cities and two fabulous hotels!
It is the second day of winter and as I post this blog I look back at this very eventful year and reflect on how lucky I am to have a career in travel. I spent much of 2015 traveling within the United States and this Fall spent time in Boston and New York City.
In Boston we stayed at XV Beacon in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. The hotel is an oasis in Boston. It is situated near Boston Common and well located. XV Beacon is home to Moo restaurant and wine bar. We enjoyed morning coffee and breakfast at Moo and returned to dinner with friends as it is their very favorite restaurant in Boston. The hotel is decorated in warm browns and natural yet modern touches. In the warmer months there is a terrace on the roof with fabulous views of the city. The staff is very cheery and helpful. There is hotel car to help shuttle you to the areas restaurants if needed. We enjoyed Red Lantern, Grill 23, Brownstone and Marliave.
New York City, as I write this we are still here enjoying all New York has to offer. This trip we chose to stay at The Crosby Street Hotel downtown, It is a Kit Kemp designed hotel. The Crosby Street Hotel is colorful and fun, the interior is thoughtful with well curated art and lovely spaces. I love that the rooms each have their own flavor. Our room has wall paper that looks like a mens suiting. There is a living room with honor bar, a private screening room and beautiful outdoor terrace. The Crosby Bar is open for 3 meals, my daughter was thrilled they served raspberry coulis with the yogurt and granola at breakfast . The lattes are fabulous.
We enjoyed Settemezzo a family favorite, Cafe Clover, great new find, Sarabeth’s for classic Thanksgiving, and Church Midi for those missing Pastis!
