Winter weekend in Los Angeles

A couple of weeks ago we had special visitors to our new home in Los Angeles. It is always fun to see where you live through the eyes of a visitor.  Our guests stayed at the Viceroy Santa Monica, it is a great location on Ocean Ave in Santa Monica and the interior was done by Kelly Wearstler so you are guaranteed a cool vibe inside and out.

We drove up to Malibu and into the hills had brunch at Peddlers Fork  the farmers market is right next door!

We watched the sunset from the bluffs in Pacific Palisades overlooking PCH and the Pacific Ocean.

The following day we enjoyed breakfast at The Ivy, A Los Angeles see and be seen haunt.  It is so lovely and the waiters are pros they make everyone feel special.

After breakfast we drove around noticing the beautiful houses, cars and sights all along Sunset Boulevard and into the hills. We  drove  up the windy road to Griffith Observatory, the day had clouded up a little but the view was still fine and when you look back towards the hills you have a superb view of the Hollywood sign! That evening we found a Thai place in Malibu for an easy supper.  The next morning we hiked in Temescal Canyon.

That afternoon it was time for a farewell lunch at The Beverly Hills Hotel Polo Lounge. An iconic restaurant in a beautiful setting.  Our friends reminisced, remembering the first time they lunched at the Polo Lounge many years ago.  Nothing had changed and permanency can be comforting in this fast paced world. The hotel is beautiful, the staff are total pros and it is a serene setting.

We enjoyed the action packed weekend in Los Angeles, our new home and it was fun to show it off to friends.  Next time the Broad Museum, Gjelina in Venice for dinner, and more hiking!
